ACTIVITY/TASK A: Creative Video: Quality CPR/BLS

Produce a video with a minimum duration of 3 minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes regarding Basic Life Support Techniques that are quality Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to accident victims as follows:

Situation 1 – Assist a victim (boy/girl) who choked on food to the point of unconsciousness, not breathing, and no pulse.

You are a member of the emergency unit of a uniformed body. One day, when queuing in the school cafeteria during recess to buy food, you and your friends heard a commotion from a group of students in a chaotic situation and screaming for help. Without delay, you rushed to the dining table to see what happened and found a student who was unconscious lying on the floor. The other friends were just dazed and surrounded the student without giving any help.

Your first action is to ask the others to give space and inquire about the cause of the incident. One of the students there said that his friend had choked on some food, causing him to be unable to breathe until he lost consciousness. You can see that there is some leftover chicken drumstick in the hand of the victim.

After you made a further examination, you found that the victim’s face was turning blue, there was still food in the victim’s mouth, and the victim was also not breathing and had no pulse. What should you do next in this situation?

Task: Describe and act out the above scenes with your creativity. Clearly show the actions according to the steps and the effectiveness of the treatment given. Give a happy ending at the end of this situation.

Situation 2 – Assisting a victim (boy/girl) who is suffocating, unconscious, and has no pulse due to being trapped in a laboratory room full of fire smoke.

While you and your friends are doing extracurricular activities in the classroom, you suddenly hear the school’s emergency bell ringing. You and your friends are shocked because you have never heard your school’s emergency bell ring for so long. You expect that something has happened. At the same time, an announcement over the loudspeaker telling all students to evacuate the building immediately. You and the rest of your friends panicked and wasted no time running out of the classroom like a motherless chick. While running down the stairs, some fell due to pushing and shoving each other due to anxiety without knowing the cause.

As you pass through the floor of the building that houses the school’s laboratory, you see black smoke billowing out of the window. You also heard the voice of a student shouting for help from inside the laboratory. Without delay, you decided to look into the lab room to find out what had happened. After you opened the door to the laboratory, you saw someone lying on the floor in a thick cloud of smoke. You tried to call the person, but there was no response. Looking at the alarming situation, you ask your friends to help remove the unconscious suffocation victim from the room. What is the best move you can make with your friends?

Task: Describe and act out the above scenes with your creativity. Clearly show the actions according to the steps and the effectiveness of the treatment given. Give a happy ending at the end of this situation.

OR

Situation 3 – Giving help to an elderly (grandmother/grandfather) who is having a heart attack after receiving bad news.

You and your friends are chatting while walking to attend the weekly uniformed activities at school. When approaching the bus shelter in front of the school, you see an elderly sitting on a bench in a lonely state of contemplation. In your observation, he looked sad while his hand stroked his chest. In your heart, you feel that he must be in trouble or pain.

You then tell your friends about your feelings about the man, but they seem not to care. You feel unsure to say hello and ask how the man is doing because you are running late to attend the weekly co-curricular activities. At the same time, you have mixed feelings about whether you want to help him or continue to follow your friends to enter the school grounds.

As you walked past him, you noticed that his breathing was erratic, and he was gasping for air with his face down. Feeling uncomfortable seeing such a thing, you try to greet him, but his response is slow. When he was about to raise his face, he fell to the ground as if he lost his balance. You can also see that he is holding a crumpled envelope in his left hand while his right hand is on his chest. His eyes are watery, and his face is pale. A moment later, he continued to lose consciousness.

Seeing such an incident, you kept shouting for help to your friends behind the school fence. What actions should you take to help him?

Task: Describe and act out the above scenes with your creativity. Clearly show the actions according to the steps and the effectiveness of the treatment given. Give a happy ending at the end of this situation.
